The camera is a lense to explore much like writing is a way to explore

           Film is a different little world of every person, which plunges us into our thoughts and dreams. I look at movies as a big path to infinite possibilities. One of the best feelings in my life is when I make films and it inspires me to carry out all my ideas into reality through the camera. Working with my cast to create some videos is always like a small close family. During the process, all my problems seem to vanish and all what matters is a new world through one lense. I always say that the camera is a lense to explore much like writing and reading is a way to explore. This way of exploration showed me my weaknesses which I need to improve in my future writing and reading with a new knowledge. Before making the video, I have to create a plot, and discuss it with the experts who will help me understand the main ideas of the process. These experts are authors such as Stuart Greene, Sylvan Barnet , Keith Grant-Davie, and John Swales and etc., who have considered processes and issues of the plot how I read and write. They helped me to achieve my main goal of ENC 1102, which was to change my opinion about the writing.

          

           In addition, this class helped me improve not only my academic skills, but also I developed and found out deeper about my critical thinking skills. Now, I consider critical thinking as an art which helps me to analyze my ideas to get to my real potential. It is not about working more or harder, it is about the development of my critical thinking skills. 

           

           What I have noticed that some important critical thinking skills, I can easily use in my major, Digital Media: Web Design. In my major is very significant to create a frame before working on graphic design. As a result, one of the critical thinking skills is observation. For instance, I make a lot of assumptions about everything what it is going around me. During this process, I take certain information from each idea what can happen in the future. I could say that the assumptions are the foundation of critical thinking. However, what if my assumptions are wrong or unreliable. In this case, I have to analyze every assumption from the bottom up. Therefore, I believe that the most important critical thinking skill for my major is analysis. In order to solve a problem or find any ideas for my work, I have to ask a lot of questions such as "What are the most basic ideas or concepts in this field to create a project for advertising company?" In addition, I have to think about an issue or topic in a critical way, recognize negative points and find a reliable solution of them, and always provide structured support for my ideas. Overall, critical thinking is the achievement of your correct final point after analyzing all ways to reach this final point.

 

            However, the most interesting part, which I reviewed for myself, is that I cannot just sit and start to write what I want without searching for the information and creation of the plan. I need to discover the way how I can find the certain details for my study. Moreover, it could sound difficult for me to discover how I can start to write. In this case, I should see the examples of other writers to learn their own styles of writing and then, compare with my own paper. As a result, the peer-view of class ENC 1102 helped me come up with the idea how I can find my own style. The best way to find and see my own way of writing is “communication” with other writers (the classmates), which means feedback and reflection of my own paper. After finding my own style of writing, I became more confident to indicate my ideas with the argument through the research.

 

               Even though I have my own style of writing, I have to consider who will be my audience. The audience is one of the most important parts of the writing. They are the main people who will try to understand my main idea of research paper. Honestly, I have never taken the audience like a significant point of understanding and considering my claims or arguments. My main purpose was always just to finish my work and give someone to read it. However, I reviewed my mistake after reading the study conducted by Keith Grant-Davie. I have to know what my audiences want to see and what they expect from me in order to find solutions for any conflicts and to achieve a mutual understanding between the writer, who is me, and my audiences.

Knowing my readers helps me to make a good decision about what information I should include, how I should organize this information, and what kind of details will be necessary for the supporting what I am indicating in my paper. Without analyzing the main audience, I will not be able to send my message clearly to the readers. As a result, my main point of the paper will be misunderstood. All these characteristics describe the main point of rhetorical communication that I analyze my audiences to make them read my paper.

 

               Learning better all details of the text book, Writing about Writing, in ENC1102, my knowledge was increased significantly. I changed my opinion about the writing. I like to speak in public and do some presentation, but I have not liked writing since my high school. I usually do not have any problems with showing my ideas on the paper. The writing has just not been interesting for me. The reason of this is that I did not think about combination of creativity and research in my writing. ENC 1102 showed me that creativity and finding a unique argument from research is something that absolutely has to happen to be successful as a writer. After understanding all principles of writing, I started to write the way which I want to see and be creative in my writing. Now, I can see that the main point of good writing is a level of creativity and using your skills of writing. I feel like I can use my own inspirations, questions and thoughts to make my paper better every day. The writing became for me a small lense of camera where I can explore new skills during my creative process of the paper, even if I need to write in an academic style.
